The spec
Numbers we will actually print
“Thread count stopped meaning anything the moment brands started counting plies. Weave and yarn are the numbers that survive a wash.”
400 TC
Single-ply percale
A real 400, not four plied yarns counted twice to reach a bigger number.
165 GSM
European flax
Grown in Normandy, wet-spun and woven in Lithuania. Stonewashed before it ships.
600 GSM
Bath terry
Heavy enough to absorb, light enough to dry on a rail overnight.
100 nights
Sleep on it
Wash it, sleep on it, send it back if it is wrong. That is the only real test.
The wardrobe
Two rooms, one standard
No collections yet.
Choose your weave
Three weaves. The whole decision.
01
Percale, if you sleep hot
One over one, flat and matte. Feels like a good shirt and breathes better than anything else we make.
02
Sateen, if you want drape
Four over one, so more yarn sits on the surface. Softer sheen, heavier fall, holds a little more warmth.
03
Linen, if you want it forever
European flax, stonewashed. Creases by design, moves moisture fastest, and outlives every other fibre here.
Percale vs sateen
The same cotton, two ways
Both are 100% long-staple cotton. The only difference is how the yarns cross, and that difference decides how the bed feels for the next five years.
Percale
- One-over-one weave
- Matte, crisp hand
- Lighter, sleeps cooler
- Softens and stays matte
- 400 thread count
Sateen
- Four-over-one weave
- Soft sheen, smooth hand
- Heavier drape, holds warmth
- Keeps its sheen
- 500 thread count
The cloth
Bought by the fibre, not the label
Long-staple only
Longer fibres mean fewer ends at the surface, which is what stops a sheet pilling in its second year.
Named mills
Portugal for cotton, Lithuania for flax, India for muslin. The same mills each season, printed on every listing.
OEKO-TEX 100
Tested for substances on every component — thread, button and dye, not just the face cloth.
Nothing coated
No wrinkle-release resin and no softener finish. Both wash out and both stop the cotton breathing.
Client reviews
What people say after a hundred nights
“I run hot and had written off cotton entirely. The percale is the first set I have not kicked off by 2am.”
Olivia Bennett
Interior Designer
“The swatches settled it. Sateen looked right on screen and felt wrong in my hand — I'd have bought the wrong thing.”
Liam Carter
Architect
“Third year on the linen. It has faded about a shade and improved about ten.”

FAQ
Things you should know
Every listing prints the finished dimensions in centimetres, and the fitted sheets take a mattress up to 38cm deep. Measure the depth of yours — that is the number that goes wrong, not the width.
Only up to a point, and only if it is single-ply. A 1000 thread count sheet is usually 500 plied yarns counted twice; it is heavier and less breathable, not finer.
Percale if you sleep warm or like a crisp, matte sheet. Sateen if you want a smoother, heavier drape with a soft sheen. The comparison above sets them side by side.
Yes. Six swatches — percale, sateen, linen and waffle in every tone — posted free, no order required.
Sleep on it, wash it, live with it. If it is wrong inside a hundred nights we collect it and refund you, used condition and all.
Yes. It ships stonewashed so it is soft on arrival, then keeps softening for roughly twenty washes before it settles.
Warm for cotton, cool for linen, and no fabric softener on either — it coats the fibre and stops it absorbing, which is the one thing a towel and a sheet both need to do.
