Six numbers, and what they mean for you
Every shoe page lists these. If a store will not print them, it is because the numbers are not good — there is no other reason to leave them out.
“People ask which shoe is best. The honest answer is which drop your calves tolerate, and nobody can tell you that from a product page.”
Drop
Heel minus forefoot
In millimetres. Lower moves load to the calf and Achilles, higher moves it to the knee. Change it slowly.
Stack
Foam under the heel
How much shoe is between you and the ground. More is softer and less stable; under 25mm you will feel everything.
Weight
Grams, in a UK 8
Always quoted at one size, because a UK 12 weighs 15% more and every brand quotes the flattering one.
Lug
Tread depth, trail only
4mm and up for mud, 2-3mm for hardpack. Deep lugs on tarmac feel like walking on studs.
Plate
Carbon, nylon or none
A plate returns energy and stiffens the shoe. Excellent for racing, hard on the calf for daily miles.
Life
Kilometres, realistically
Foam compresses before the outsole wears. If the shoe feels flat at 400km it is finished, whatever the tread looks like.

05 ( Sizing )
One scale is not a size guide
All five, on every page
UK, US men's, US women's, EU and CM on the same line as the size picker. Not in a modal, not in a PDF, not on a separate page you have to find.
The first swap is free
Both directions, from 38 countries. Footwear bought online is a fitting, and a fitting that costs the customer money is not a fitting.
Sixty days, outdoors
A shop carpet tells you nothing. Run in them on real ground and send them back if the drop does not suit you.
The ground
decides.

From people who returned the first pair
“Ordered from Singapore expecting a customs bill. There wasn't one. That alone is why I bought the second pair here instead of a US site.”

“Went down to a 6mm drop too fast and my calves let me know. Sent them back at day fifty, swapped to the 10mm, no argument and no cost.”

“The only store I've found that prints lug depth. I run in Welsh mud and that one number is the whole purchase decision.”

07 ( Before you buy )
Drop, sizing, duties, returns
If it is not here, message the fit team — a person replies, usually the same day.
Drop is heel stack minus forefoot stack, in millimetres. Lower drop shifts load to the calf and Achilles; higher drop shifts it to the knee. There is no correct number — there is the number your body currently tolerates. If you are changing, move 2-4mm at a time over a couple of months, not in one purchase.
Every shoe page lists UK, US men's, US women's, EU and CM on the same line as the picker. UK 8 = US-M 9 = US-W 10.5 = EU 42 = CM 27.0. Measure your foot in centimetres at the end of the day, standing, and match the CM column — it is the only scale that is a measurement rather than a convention.
No. Duties and taxes are calculated and paid at checkout, so the price you agreed is the total. This applies to every country we ship to, including post-Brexit EU and US orders over the de minimis threshold.
Run in them outdoors for up to sixty days. If the shoe is wrong — the drop, the width, the ride — send it back and we pay the return from 38 countries. Worn soles are expected; that is the point of testing them properly.
About 400km for a daily trainer, 600km on trail, 250km for the race shoe. Foam compresses before the outsole wears, so if the ride feels flat the shoe is finished even if the tread looks fine.
For a few kilometres of connecting tarmac, yes. As a road shoe, no — 4mm lugs on hard surfaces wear down fast and transmit every impact. Buy the shoe for the ground you spend most of your time on.
08 ( Stride® )
Every number, before you buy.
Drop, stack, weight, lug depth, plate and realistic life — printed on every page, in every size scale, with the duty already paid. None of that is generous. It is the minimum, and most of this industry still does not do it.
